I have a cute kayak. I think I might get claustrophobic since the cockpit seems kinda small. But I'm having fun with the many ways I can adjust my seat for a perfect fit (another selling point). So I get my husband to go with me to a little lake down the road to try it out.
This is Bonney Lake in Washington. It's the size of a peanut. Even so, I was scared to death since I'm now on the water and why does my kayak feel like it's going to tip over? Note there's hardly a ripple in the water but to me, it feels like those ripples are 5 foot waves.
This is me and my green boat in the huge lake. Intimidating isn't it?
Look at the way I get out of my kayak. I didn't tell you that I read about how to get in and out of the kayak and see how I'm diligently following the instructions? "Lay the paddle behind you and use it to stable yourself as you get out of the kayak". I'm not sure if I could be any more stable but this is how I continue to get out until I start feeling stupid.
Maiden voyage complete. I didn't die.
