I've advanced to a larger body of water (not much larger). This is Lake Kapowsin. I didn't realize but this is a "fishing" lake for "fishermen". It is a shallow lake with lots and lots of stumps from when it used to be a sawmill town - no waterskiing here or else you risk losing your motor by running over these jagged underwater traps. Really, if you're not a fisherman, you feel really out of place and you have to watch out for all the fishing line that these guys are constantly throwing out just to reel back in. I guess I could hang a rod outside my kayak and troll as I paddle but then the question arises as what the heck to do if I actually caught a fish. So I avoid going near the shoreline since evidently that's where ALL the fish are - the middle of the lake is empty so I find myself there instead.
I must admit it's a nice little lake, very quiet since no speeding motorboats are allowed. It's naturey too (yes I made up the word). I lounging in my kayak more than actually paddling.
